Effective 11/1/12 EquiTrust announces modifications to Income For Life, the income benefit rider available on fixed index annuities, and a rate change on Certainty Select MYGA.
Income For Life Changes
For Applications Received 11/1/12 and later
• The Benefit Base rollup rate will be 6.5%
• The Benefit Base rollup period maximum will be 15 years
The Benefit Base is a calculation used to determine payout amounts available with the rider. The Benefit Base does not impact the annuity's Accumulation Value.
Still a highly competitive income rider!
• Available on all index annuities
• Income available after 2nd year and age 50
• Guaranteed income for life – without annuitizing
• Start and stop payments as needed
• Annual fee of 0.50% of Accumulation Value
• Payments continue even if Accumulation Value is depleted

Transition Rules
• Applications received on or after 11/1/12 in which rider is elected will require new rider disclosure dated 11-12.
• Applications pending on 11/1/12 will receive the former rollup rate and rollup period: 7% for 20 years.
