Interest Rate Update As interest rates remain at or near historic lows, we believe a strategy of responsive pricing best positions us to deliver both competitive products and consistent customer value. With those important goals in mind, we're adjusting rates on our Athene Benefit 10SM products effective August 6, 2016. Effective July 9, 2016, we're adjusting Income Base Bonus Percentages and crediting rates on our Athene Ascent^SM Pro products as listed below. Income Withdrawal Percentages for all ages will also be adjusted. Download the updated income payout chart here.

Athene continues to maintain a competitive advantage in fixed and fixed indexed annuities with top-tier rates.

Application deadlines

• Applications with cash received in good order by Athene no later than 4 pm CT on July 8, 2016 will be issued as applied for.
• Non-cash applications (e.g. 1035 exchanges, IRA rollovers) received in good order by Athene no later than 4 pm CT on July 8, 2016 will be issued as applied for if funds are received no later than 4 pm CT on September 2, 2016.
• Applications received in good order after 4 pm CT on July 8, 2016 will be issued with the new rates.

Cash with Application/Wire In order to receive the higher rate: Paper applications with checks must be signed by Wednesday, July 20. Paperwork and funds must be received by Great American within seven calendar days of the application sign date. Electronic applications must be completed by Wednesday, July 20. The electronic file and funds must be received by Great American within seven calendar days of the completion date. Transfers and Rollovers In order to receive the higher rate: Paper applications must be signed by Wednesday, July 20 and received by Great American within seven calendar days of the application sign date. Interest Rate Changes In response to the current interest rate environment, new business interest rates for Annuity Care®, Annuity Care II/III and Indexed Annuity Care will be decreasing effective Friday, July 15, 2016.   View all rates » The new rates will be as follows:    Annuity Care: LTC fund: 1.40% Cash fund: 1.05%   Annuity Care II/III: LTC accumulated value: 1.15% Accumulated value: 1.05%   Important: These new rates will be reflected on software version 6.31 (7-15-16), which can be downloaded beginning July 15 from OSO. Current new business rates may be preserved based on the method of funding: Cash Transactions: We must receive a completed application with full premium in the Home Office by the end of business on Friday, July 15, to preserve current interest rates.  Transfer/1035 Transactions: We must receive a completed application with completed transfer or 1035 paperwork no later than Friday, July 15.
